When you are buying a VPS or dedicated server for running your own free websites proxy servers, you need to note the amount of RAM given on the hosting plans. Some cheap $10 VPS plans give you 128 Mb or less of RAM resources but this is not even sufficient for hosting generic websites, let alone resource hungry high traffic anonymous proxy websites. For example, you need around 60 Mb of RAM just to run the liunx operating system, and if you want a nice looking control panel such as Cpanel to manage your hosting, that will take up another 70 to 100 Mb leaving you zero memory for the proxy server scripts at all. If you cannot afford anything dedicated server plans with at least 1 Gb RAM, stick to shared proxy hosting. You can perhaps start out with a VPS with 512Mb RAM, but it is too dangerously thin on resources. Instead, you should spread your free anonymous web proxies around several cheap shared proxy hosting plans from different proxy hosting companies.
